I am trying to get involved again in YTB. I am a teacher in Macon, GA, starving to death! I can't live off of this salary. I need to get in touch with local YTB folks because I don't have time to get on the road.

1) Accounting Auditors don't think that the company will be around for long.
"Our independent registered public accounting firm has issued an opinion on our consolidated financial statements that states that the consolidated financial statements were prepared assuming we will continue as a going concern and further states that our loss from operations and working capital deficiency raise substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern."
2. The Accountants and Auditors after three years of telling YTB how to fix thier internal controls, have not fixed them. Lloyd is still running this like his personal "piggy bank".
In our opinion, because of the effect of the material weaknesses described above on the achievement of the objectives of the control criteria, YTB International, Inc. has not maintained effective internal control over financial reporting as of December 31, 2008, based on criteria established in Internal Control – Integrated Framework issued by the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO).
3) Cash is down to $1.2m. There is not enough cash to keep this going. They are still burning way too much cash. See #1 above.
4) CA AG lawsuit has cost $1m already and the CA AG told YTB's Insurance Carrier that the Insurance Carrier would not be held liable to pay for the defense costs. Where is the cash going to come from to defend this lawsuit since the Insurance Carrier is not going to pay?
"In addition, legal fees increased $1.0 million resulting from our Company’s defense against the suit filed by the California Attorney General’s office described in more detail in Item 3."
5) Number of RTA's has fallen dramatically by 30%. Down to 92,000 RTA's and by now it is most likely down to about 80,000.
6) YTB has $1.9m in short term debt due in 2009 and another $1.6 million in contractual obligations due in 2009. There just isn't the cash flow to cover these expenses.
7)Current Assets – $17m Current Liabilities – $27m
Not a good picture. A healthy company's Balance sheet would look just the opposite. $27m in assets and $17m in liabilities.
8)The company wrote off $944,000 in personal loans to Directors and other insiders.
This is paramount to stealing from the shareholders. This is one of the reasons why the Accountants/Auditors issued #2 above.
9) The segment results just reinforce the CA AG's assertion that YTB is a pyramid.
Net Income
Recruiting – $4,756
Travel – ($4,284)
Sales
Recruiting – $133,635
Travel – $28,840
YTB loses money selling thier travel product and it only accounts for 17% of sales. If this is not a pyramid what is?
10) They lost ($4,750,000) in '08. They cannot survive another year like '08.
My guestimate around September last year was that YTB would last through the 2nd quarter of 09 and would shut down in 3Q '09. I'm still of that belief especially after going through this aweful 10K.
