What’s this “Travel Protection” thing all about? Does it make “non- refundable” flights “refundable”?

YTB has made a special arrangement with American Home Assurance Company (AHAC) to provide low cost travel insurance.

For only $15 per ticket (plus $1 per rental day if you add a Rental Car), this Travel Insurance plan provides:

Trip Cancellation /Trip Interruption: If you or your traveling companion has to cancel or interrupt your trip due to a covered reason (e.g., unforeseen sickness, injury, illness or death) the cost of your airline ticket purchased through this site will be reimbursed. Travel Insurance is for emergency situations such as those described above only, and cannot be used to cover the cost of a trip that is cancelled for any other reason. Please see the Description of Coverage for full details.

Medical Expense: AHAC will reimburse you up to $1,500 for medical treatment if you incur necessary covered expenses associated with the emergency treatment of any covered injury or covered sickness occurring while on your trip.

Emergency Evacuation: AHAC will pay benefits for covered expenses, up to $50,000 if any covered injury or covered sickness commencing during the course of the trip results in your necessary emergency evacuation.

Baggage Loss: AHAC will reimburse you, up to $500 for documented loss, theft, or damage to covered baggage and personal effects.

Repatriation of Remains: AHAC will pay the reasonable covered expenses incurred, up to $50,00Worldwide Assistance Services
You will have Unlimited Worldwide Emergency Assistance including pre-departure planning, coordination of Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains, Physician and Hospital Referral, Medical Case Monitoring, Insurance Claims Coordination, Lost or Stolen Travel Documents and more.
