YTB Lawsuit Thrown Out Of Court…
An angry federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois threw out a complaint by former YTB associates who filed a class action complaint against YTB International. Judge G. Patrick Murphy called the July 15 complaint an ?ungainly monster of 39 pages containing 133 paragraphs ? that does not pass muster under federal standards.? The plaintiffs sought standing in a class action suit against YTB that argued that YTB was an illegal multilevel marketing scheme that victimized them under state law. Several plaintiffs were not Illinois residents.
The judge questioned the plaintiffs standing under the state?s consumer protection laws and noted that the plaintiff?s earlier case had been dismissed on June 5. While the plaintiffs can seek redress in a higher court,? the Judge said, ?As a general rule the Court is not fond of ?ill-founded requests for reconsideration of matters previously decided.? "

Remember! "If it ain't true don't say it!" Indoctrination is difficult to prove because victims always grasp tighter.
So, what exactly is your point?
Who knows? the class Action was tossed but the suit by the Illinois AG is still going strong. God Bless Lisa Madigan!
I need help with this business period – I have been a Travel Rep since February of 2007. WTF? What does it take to have my website show up in a search? Why does my site go in a loop and not show me travel opeions? How do I get a search engine? How the hell do I get anyone from my upline to give a shit? I am really happy for everyone's success but I freakin' need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In response to Susi of August 3rd, does your upline sponsor regular meetings? If they do, are you attending? Do you listen in on training calls? Do you go into your back office and take advantage of the training tools there? How much time do you spend (daily and weekly)familiarizing yourself with your business?
Questions like: "How do I cancel my YTB store," speak to the fact that people have never even taken the initiative to learn the smallest things about their site, yet, they're ready to give up! Cancellation is spelled out very plainly and is so simple that I'll bet an 8 year old could do it!
The knowledge to run your business is available to you, but if you have been non-productive and dissatisfied since 2007, that speaks to a lack of initiative on your part! You have invested in a great home based business and you deserve to have it work for you. But in order for your business to work, YOU have to go to work, FIRST! Go to work learning what you have in your hands!!
Don't quit! You're far too invested to give up….you just need someone to help you to refocus (and maybe kick you in the butt a little bit)! Your upline may not be on top of their game, but there are too many others who you can learn from, who are!
If you are interested in speaking with me, please reply to this post with a comment. I am more than willing to see if I can help to get you started in the right direction and the right way!!
Make your investment count! Let's talk!
Yeah – don't quit. Coach needs your money and how is he going to get it if you quit? Your website will never show up in any search engine cause there are thousands just like it. Don't waste any more $$ trying. Send that money to Coach.
He's got a million dollar lien on his house! (Stiffed the contractor – what a guy!) He needs every 49.95 he can get his hands on. Right Mary?
Susi:
You need to learn marketing, because the bottom line is that you'll never truly break out from this business chasing friends and family.
The Home Biz Guys have some excellent resources that I've been checking out. Without a formal plug, here is their link:
http://www.home-biz-guys.com
Also, one of the problems with Network Marketing Companies' websites is that most of the sites contain the same or duplicate content.
When Google sees duplicate content across multiple domains and across various websites, it hurts your natural search engine rankings, meaning you'll never show up for a natural search.
According to Google's official blog, duplicate content is defined as follows:
"Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across domains that either completely match other content or are appreciably similar. Most of the time when we see this, it's unintentional or at least not malicious in origin: forums that generate both regular and stripped-down mobile-targeted pages, store items shown (and — worse yet — linked) via multiple distinct URLs, and so on. In some cases, content is duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings or garner more traffic via popular or long-tail queries."
The Solution:
The solution is to create a customized website with fresh, original content.
The content must be original and not be "copied" off another website. So, instead of throwing money down the drain with a self-replicated website, why not create your own customized site that will rank high in the search engines.
Hope this helps.
This "Coach" Tomer is the "Pastor Tomer" who bought Elvis's plane to raise money for his church back in the 70's and had it repo'd, isn't it?
I was in the travel But it has slow down and its to late to get rich in ytb the next trend is Utility every time someone pays there utility bill. Get the book Wave4 by Richard Poe
Sorry, but that has been a VERY big problem with getting in tough with "uplines" . I am glad i got out , My character means more to me than RIPPING PEOPLE OFF , and THEY WILL GET ANOTHER LAWSUIT if I keep seeing MY NAME affiliated with ytb in search engines
Sounds like a bunch of angry and frightened so-called optimist to me…Nothing has ever been handed to me. I'm willing to scrape tooth and nail, until my last breath…
If at first you don't succeed keep trying and quit "crying" babies… i've lost ten times as much at the casino!!!!!!!!!!
I work for a major insurance carrier that sign up new agents that invest over $80,000 and end up loosing their money and quit when they can't meet quotas and only clear about $30,000 a year. They don't get their money back. There are agents in insurance that lie to customers to make a sell and are let go. The company endures law suits from people who were victims of those agents. My point is that in every business we have slum, good people and people at the top making money that others hate on. YTB gives the same or better tools to their affiliates, for what they pay, that being an insurance agent or in a franchise in another field. If your upline sucks, call corporate, write letters to 'coach' and be heard. It's the only way you will have results in any business. For your company to be search and show up, like any business, you have to pay for a longer hold on your .com or .net, etc. If you only pay for your name for a short period of time, I was told by hosted site companies, like go daddy (etc)., that it has something to do with the seriousness of the system accepting your information to put it at the top. For more advice on this, there are people who create websites that can advise you on getting your site to show up in a google search, for example. YTB can give you only a certain amount of tools. You have to be business and marketing savvy, on your own to a certain point, just as if you had any other business. Franchises offer more support, but you will rarely find a franchise of any kind for less than ten thousand dollars because of the type of support it provides. It costs! Good luck with your up line. Find out if you can get into a better one. Network at conventions or other YTB owners to see who their team leaders are. Just like in a regular company when people switch departments because their manager sucks, not because the company is bad. Don't let anyone discourage what you need to do to make it.
Susie, I responded to you below in regards to being in a bad upline and showing up on a search. Good luck. Headlinertravel.com.
YTB websites are rented, not owned.
Bruce I see you are still at it. give up YTB is going no where.
haters
Your comment doesn't change the fact that the TSO does not OWN the website. Coach gets the template for practically nothing and each and everyone of you rents it from him for 50.00 buck a month. Sweet deal for him no? If it were YOUR website you could change the offers, have your name and phone number and personalize it anyway you wanted. You can't. And now that Coach has reinstated the dead sites from fromer RTAs you have even MORE competition between HQ and yourselves for any lost consumer who can't find Expedia.
Have you read the Income Disclosure that every possible recruit must be shown? 90% of TSOs spent 1700.00 in order to earn 111.00 in commissions last year. TSOs paid Coach 22 million in the 1 +2 quarter of 09 and received 1.6 million in commissions. What a great deal for Coach! What a bad deal for you!
Stop hating. I don't care what you say, you can't get a business deal better than this one. You are spoiled. Do some work. You can make your investment back and more if you work at it. The Bible says that if you don't work, you don't eat. Same with this. You have to do something. Whatever you do, this $500 can be paid for and if you work a little harder, you can get the website hosting paid for. You have to work for some. By the way, ever heard of common sense, use it.
Bruce you know nothing my name and number are on my website right at the top.
I make more than enough booked travel commissions to pay for the site each month but,Ialso get bonus of 50 buck each month for having more than six travel sit owners yes I said ONWERS on my Power Team.
While you have been on hear spouting xxxx I just booked a cruise and sold another travel store.
Get back to work Bruce or maybe you don't do anything but blog.
Over and out this is a waste of my time.
The people who run YTB are soulless. They only care about their own greedy needs. How many people actually make a living doing this? Compare this to the thousands still paying their $49.95 per month trying to "recruit" more suckers to pay $549 + 49.95 per month.
They are "ONWERS"? Maybe, but they sure don't OWN those websites. Glad you sold a cruise and suckered another poor soul into the flopportunity. I'll say it again – just in case someone you might recruit reads this – the MAJORITY of TSOs spend 1700.00 per year to 'earn' 111.00. The Income Disclosure you MUST present and explain to the recruits makes that figure a fact. I agree that scamming is a waste of time. Get back at it! Coach needs a million to get the lien off his house. I hear he's considering filing for bankruptcy which seems to be popular with YTBites right now.
YTB is one of the biggest scams out there. Remember Paycationexperts video presentation!
Why hasn't everyone quit this business? De Nile ain't just a river in Egypt!
You need to do better than, "You can make your investment back if you work at it." Can't every every MLM on the planet say that? What value does this business offer the marketplace?
What is unique except that it is under scrutiny from a legal standpoint?
Hello from YTB Canada!
Just wondering if anyone in this blog knows about YTB Director meetings coming soon to Las Vegas
Thank you in advance!
Andrea – Toronto, Canada
YTB is a multi level marketing company. This isn’t a question. I’m not saying they are an awful company, but they ARE a multi level marketing company (an MLM).
First off, lets look at how their business model doesn’t make sense for average person looking to make a buck:
They start you off at a low commission rate, paying out less than 65%. Secondly, they cap the commission. Say their contract with a supplier is 15%, they cap it at 10%. And THEN only give you 60% percent of that! So they put that extra 5% in their pocket from the start, and paid you a lousy 60% or so from the 10%. That’s a lot of money they scammed you, no? Well, depends on how much you sold. Sure, if you don’t work you won’t make money. But how many people out there are being scammed and they don’t even realize it? The ones being scammed the MOST are the ones that ARE doing the most work.
Also, it is no secret they want you to start off with your friends and family to become agents under you. Let’s use common sense… having people in your market start something that you are doing to make money…cuts into your market. Overall, this sucks as a strategy.
Think about it, say you own a bakery. You sell bread. Then you get your brother to open up shop next door and sell bread. That simply wouldn’t make sense. You either lost some customers, or set your brother up to have a harder time starting out than you did!
Lastly, YTB is losing respect in the travel industry. Royal Caribbean no longer recognizes them as an agency or accepts their bookings. How can you be the “top travel company” and not work with one of the largest cruise lines in the world? You can’t.
However, there are companies out there that pay top notch commissions to their agents and offer better support. They don’t have numerous compaints about not paying out their commissions and they aren’t an MLM company.
Do your research and find a reputable company
Those that spend soooo much time and energy trying to "set things straight" with things the know NOTHING about REALLY need to get a life!
Ashley is 1000% WRONG on how the commission structure works and the floor is open for us to make up to 100% of the commissions …
Everything else she said is just a bunch of baloney! blagh, blagh, blagh!
Documentation beats conversation every time which when you DO "research and find a reputable company" you'll see that you keep coming back to YTB!
1. We have no competition in the Direct Sales market of travel online
2. We ARE the largest Online Travel Network in America
3. We ARE the 25th largest provider of travel … and no one has even heard of us yet!
4. We're moving into a Franchise Model (to be announced 1st quarter of 2010) and when we do, we will instantly be the largest Online Travel Network GLOBALLY!
… and will leave many, like Ashley, in the dust!
Have a super day everyone!
I wasn't going to respond, mostly because there wasn't anything substantial to respond to… but let me leave with you with some final thoughts:
1. Why doesn't Royal Caribbean (one of the largest cruise lines in the world, whom people HAVE heard of) work with YTB?
2. Online Travel NETWORK. It's a multi level marketing network (also known as network marketing), and like I said, that isn't a question.
3. The franchise model is YTB's desperate attempt to cover up the bad publicity with scam accusations. They want to make sure they don't go down like Joystar, who also was banned from booking RCCL, had bad publicity, couldn't pay commissions, and then unfortunately went out of business.
Andrea, you can spit out nasty comments. You can accept opinions that you are told by higher ranking YTB members as truth and repeat them. You can use phrases like "blagh, blagh, blagh" and "1000%". The truth is you bought into a scam, like many others, and if you are on top that's great for you! However, most people wrapped up into this mess can't be on top, because that is how a pyramid works.
I'm not saying it's an awful company, I am simply saying fact, it's multi level marketing. As a travel professional, I can safely say that multi level marketing is frowned upon in our industry.
Good luck!
Andrea – you are sadly incorrect about the commissions paid to TSOs. Your booking engine – owned by Travelocity – takes a cut. Coach takes a cut and then you get 60-70% of whats left. There is not one person in YTB who gets 100%. Not one. Haven't you looked at the Income Disclosure statement on the recruiting sites? Granted it's as hidden as it can be but it's there. And you are a talking head…repeat after me…repeat after me…You are just the kind of person YTB hopes to find. Easily led, unable to think independently, and breathing.
Right on Ashley!
lol exactly!!!!
many brainwashed people in ytb If they DO NOT get my link off of search engines they will have ANOTHER lawsuit against them , I refuse to be associated with this company
Documentation beats conversation every time which when you DO "research and find a reputable company" you'll see that you keep coming back to YTB!
uh huh Better Business Bureau rating of F
FTC complaints , and people slam TV WILSON AND STEVE BRANCH for getting out? No that is wisdom
I'm considering giving ytb a shot. I wish there was no up front fee.
I'm also considering buying some shares of stock. Am I crazy.
Dear Susie,
Please do this if you really want help. Contact YTB and tell them you want to switch to my group. I would love to have you join my group. I am part of Team Vision. My contact number is on my website. It makes me so pissed off, when someone is asking for help and not getting it. I have a few REPS on my team who do absolutely nothing. So if you're ready to get results, then quit your team and join mine.
Henry Verdejo Jr.
susie if you still need help please give me a call!
sorry i meant e-mail
Are you guys desperate recruiters or what? Run Susie Run!
It says a lot about YTB when everyone is trying to poach someone elses downline doesn't it? Things not going well folks?
contact any ytb affilliate and he/she will show you, you can become part of a YTB team without upfront cost. Of course, you would have to lose 20 minutes, approxemately, of your time to find out how and to sign up. If you are truly serious.
And MUCH Prosperity to ALL of us in ALL areas of our lives!!
Mr. Bruce, I beleive this just shows the integrity of this company, YTB and its PARTNERS.
Did you know for every negative thing you say about YTB, you are actually Blessing that company AND eveything and everyone affiliated with YTB?
Instead why don't you say positive things about the company so you don't give away YOUR Blessing…
I wish you peace, happiness and many Blessings

@Anonymous:
YTB set me back about $25,000. I am up for burying these theives.
@Your'e Totally Broke (YTB): Nice comment John Frenaye…. That is great! Has anyone seen John Frenayes Website? go to http://www.JohnFrenaye.com and check it out!
@Bruce:
You are right.. while the coach and his son win big.. I spent well over that.. the straw that broke the camel back for me was an all inclusive 2 adult trip to mexico and plane tickets.. the trip was over 3,000 dollars for 7 days and you think you are commissioning 60% of that right.. no.. you get 60% of the 30% that ytb (ie.. Coach and his croonies) get.. I got 88.00 dollars for that trip.. he gets the other 40%.. ytb charges me the check they print for my sale of 2.00 dollars.. bottom line they have no overhead.. they are crooked.. 500.00 dollars to get in, 50.00 for monthly website.. get 40% of whatever percent the hotel pays them.. (varies from 8%-30% I think).. and even charge the RTA to print their own check.. shake my head every time I tell this story.. that I was so darn gullible.
And some should wonder why so many of the millionaires left.. like Kent M, the dynamic duo, so many left.. and so Lou Brock.. ancient, and never really a celeb.. lost their IATAN.. ytb lost it all because the greed of the directors..
A lot of people are joining ccm. Energy is the next big trend, They deregulate the Telecommunications 20 years ago. now it's Energy no one can ever pay off there utility bill..my from ytb have joined ccm
@Bruce: you are just hating because it did not work for huh Bruce. Mary is right you have to know your website and your product in and out in order for you to talk about it. You go to work and know your job this is just like a job so learn it and go tell everyone about it.
