RTA CREDENTIAL & CLIA QUALIFICATIONS — UPDATED!
New requirements (for RTAs joining as of March 1, 2008) are now in place in order to qualify for a U.S.YTB Referring Travel Agent credential:

YTB Referring Travel Agent credential: RTA has sold a minimum of $1,500 in non-personal travel for the RTA credential card. In order to apply for a CLIA card, you must be a Certified RTA and have met CLIA's current training requirements. Renewal credentials are not required to meet this qualification.

California State RTAs: YTB Referring Travel Agent credential: RTA has sold a minimum of $1,500 in non-personal travel for the RTA credential card. In order to apply for a CLIA Card RTAs in California will be required to sell a minimum of $2,500 in non-personal travel and have met CLIA's current training requirements. (Residents of other states will not be required to meet this qualification). Renewal credentials are not required to meet this qualification.

Referring Travel Affiliates in Canada are ineligible for the RTA credential or CLIA card.

Is the RTA Credential an Iatan card?

Nope…YTB and its reps cannot get an IATAN card. IATAN has revoked YTB's status.
