Network Marketing Companies

Network marketing is a very common marketing model adopted by many companies largely into selling customer durables. Network marketing companies, unlike other firms, have a much larger marketer base with most marketers working on a sales commission basis. Although, there are many reputable network marketing companies, there are also several hundred scams in the network marketing business today.

Network marketing companies are also known an MLM or multilevel marketing companies. These companies pay sales commissions to their representatives who join the network. The representatives are usually people like you and me who want to earn some money working from home or want to take up an additional job. There are also those who are aggressively into network marketing and have built fortunes representing many companies.

In essence, network marketing companies use a business model that combines direct marketing and franchising. Unlike other companies network marketing firms depend largely on word of mouth advertising and rarely run advertising campaigns. These companies train their representatives and these people then sell the company’s products through direct sales methods. In online network marketing, representatives do the selling through websites. In fact, the online network marketing model is actually the more popular one these days.

Some of the oldest and best-known network marketing companies today are Amway, Avon, Herbalife, and Nikken. Where Amway deals with household products, Avon specializes in beauty products and Herbalife and Nikken are into the wellness industry.

Although the kind products these network marketing companies market are available in most stores, many people prefer to patronize these brands. These companies have vast international operations and probably thousands of reps spread across the globe.

Apart from paying out commissions for sales, most network marketing companies also give out incentive bonuses for recruiting more representatives to the marketing chain. This is also a scheme, which fraud network marketing companies normally misuse. In illegal pyramid schemes that sell themselves as network marketers, people don’t actually sell any product but simply get paid to recruit. This unethical practice has given a bad name to network marketing and people are getting quite wary of it.
